A broad finance leadership role supporting an infrastructure and technical services group through an entity-wide transformation programme and a potential future transaction.

This sits well beyond conventional FP&A.

The brief covers forecasting, investor reporting, transaction readiness, Day 1 planning, TSA requirements and the design of a finance model capable of supporting the business after completion.

The role will work closely with the CFO, executive team and transformation office.

THE BRIEF

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning across the transformation programme.
  • Build an integrated model covering trading, cash, funding and transaction scenarios.
  • Improve board and investor reporting.
  • Prepare finance for due diligence and transaction execution.
  • Define Day 1 requirements across reporting, banking, treasury, controls and payroll.
  • Scope and govern finance-related Transition Services Agreements.
  • Establish reporting structures and accounting policies for the future organisation.
  • Improve visibility across contract profitability, margins and working capital.
  • Coordinate ERP, data and chart-of-accounts requirements with the wider programme.
  • Prepare data-room materials and support responses to investors, lenders and advisers.
  • Track value-creation initiatives against the investment case.
  • Help define the future finance operating model, structure and systems.

WHAT THE ROLE CALLS FOR

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
  • Senior FP&A, commercial finance or transformation leadership experience.
  • Previous involvement in transaction readiness, integration, separation or carve-out activity.
  • Experience in private equity-backed or transaction-led environments.
  • Strong modelling, forecasting and scenario-planning skills.
  • Practical knowledge of Day 1 planning and TSA requirements.
  • Experience of wider business or finance transformation.
  • Confidence communicating with boards, investors, lenders and advisers.
  • Exposure to infrastructure, engineering, project-led or technical services businesses would be useful.

The successful candidate will help create the financial clarity and control required before a transaction, while making sure the business is ready to operate effectively from Day 1.
